Let's go surf at the Bluffs, bring your backpack for lunch, surf essentials, Monster Drinks... and enjoy the day!
S swell is supposed to peak 4-5 ft but in case it changes its mind, we're still cool with it because it's Sunday.

This place usually has less crowd and plenty of peaks to choose from. It has sandbars and can actually handle a higher tide (although this weekend it will be "swingin" high,... way high). There are cobblestones between the sand and the water then sandy bottom. LB, SB, Fish mix just fine depending on condition.

The waves are faster than San O but it's nothing like Trestles and won't slap you silly. With the predicted higher size there maybe a stronger current S --> N. The trail is about 0.3 mi if that, a tad longer but less incline than other trails.

NOTE #1: Due to its nature, this is NOT a "learn to surf" session (incline access, various peaks and the possible size of wave). If unsure, you should pair and car pool with someone more experienced in case you miss us or get separated in the water.

DIRECTIONS:
From I5 take Basilone exit and follow the State Beach sign to the end of road (pass the Nuclear Plant -- the two giant boobies). Your annual pass will work or $15/day parking. I'll try to park between trail 5-6 parking lot nearest the bathroom by the Trail 6 entrance. If you come later, follow the trail to the beach, turn left and look for the BLUE SUN SHELTER.

Details don't fit in small pics so click and zoom for more:

NOTE #2: Like any outdoor events, check your email before you go (or the night before) in case things change. Will Cancel if too choppy, too windy, too bad. I'll send my cell # to the YES-es a day before.

See you soon!

I'll have my portable BBQ for a parking lot lunch under the shade trees. I'm taking hot dogs and curry chicken tenderloins. Hey Ryon, take your short board too. Trail 6 should be big. The SW swell alone is supposed to be in the 5' range. The waves there are nice and steep and break faster than at San O.

Trail 6 was brutal today . . . impossible to paddle out. I'm glad we moved to San O. Thanks to my surf buddy for loaning me the 8'4" semi-gun. That was the perfect board for surfing todays washing machine conditions.
    •  Really great group of people
    •  Mother Ocean rocks! Impressively impassable Trail 6. Glad we went to the more manageable SanO, lightly put.. he he.
