“ After Hwy 92, go 3 miles North on Hwy 1. You will see the jetty and the beach and then right after the light, park on the right side (east side) of the road. Cross the road and we will be surfing right out from there. ”
JIT at HMB- Just In Time surfing at Half Moon Bay.
What, you need more than 12 hours notice to go surfing? That is way too long! Sometimes it is hard to predict the waves and the weather very far in advance so we just have to jump at the opportunity. Anyways, you weren't doing anything tomorrow (Saturday) morning, were you? ;-)
Tomorrow will likely be a great day to be on the water at HMB. The waves will be 2 to 4 foot and while it is a beach break, there will be a few shoulders to pick off for some fun rides. Today at HMB was sunny, but this is very rare so I can't guarantee sun for tomorrow ... but I can guarantee that the being on the water will be a great way to get out of the heat.
For those of you that don't have equipment, you can rent it here:
Half Moon Bay Board Shop
3032 Cabrillo Hwy N
Half Moon Bay, CA 94019
(650) 726-1476
Opens 9am
Cowboy Surf Shop
2830 Cabrillo Hwy N # 1, Half Moon Bay, CA
(650) 726-6968
Opens 10am
Since these aren't open until later, anyone that needs equipment can catch us on the water.
For those interested in getting into some bigger surf, you can hike down the beach a ways because once you get out of the wave shadow of the marina, you will start to get 7 foot plus wave action.
That's about it. Try to setup carpools to save gas (I need a ride!) and we will meet on the beach at 8:30.
Cowabunga, let's go surfing!
